Every once in a great while, a bit of technology comes along that makes even the tech-savviest geek do a bit of a double take. Sony
Corporation President and CEO Kazuo Hirai took the stage at CES to
discuss some of the latest innovations the company has been working on,
and they've got some pretty cool stuff coming down the pipe.Among the announcements were the VPL-VZ1000ES, a new throw projector
that can project a 4K HDR quality 100" to 120" image from only six
inches away. There are five new sound bars, including the HT-ST5000,
which features Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and 12 advanced speakers.
Sony
announced more than a few things, but the most impressive is definitely
the Bravia OLED A1E, a television powered by Sony's 4K HDR Processor X1
Extreme. That's not the mind-blown bit, though. That would be the
Acoustic Surface, the vibrating screen that emits sound itself in lieu
of traditional speakers. I mean, I'm always to complain about the lack
of flying cars, but the Acoustic Surface is pretty rad.
